So, Valentine’s day is around the corner. All the couples have started planning gifts and surprises for their partners, and single people like me are excited to look at their reactions through Instagram stories, posts, reels, or statuses. Overall, it is a cheery occasion with the markets flooding up with heart-shaped products and advertisements related to love. I don’t want to go into the history and geography of this occasion, but want simply to present to you some of the valentine’s day gift ideas for your partner this Valentine’s week.
It’s valentine’s week and your partner is a book nerd. If these are the conditions, then you have arrived at the perfect place. In this blog post, I am going to suggest to you more than 50 books that you can gift to your partner, be it him, her, or them.
Romances
Romance sound like a pretty uncomplicated term, right? Two people fall in love and decide together that they want to spend their life together. Right? But sorry to disappoint you, my friend, love is not so simple, and neither is the romance genre. So I will help you to choose from the below category so that you can choose the book that your partner is going to love!
I have attached the Goodreads link of each book to its image description. So, if you don’t feel satisfied by my ramblings, want to know more about the book, or add the book to your TBR, you know where to click. Also, click on the title to go to the purchase link of that book. Hope you find what you are seeking this Valentine’s Day. *winks and hugs*
Happy Ending, Happy Vibes
These romances are which end in the coming together of two lovers. Not all romances end this way, so consider yourself lucky if you are getting a happy ending and a happy ending read. (But happy endings don’t mean that the book is going to be happy, because life is a series of ups and downs)
If You Could See Me Now
This book fills the heart with warmth and makes you believe in love. Even though the ending is not what I would have personally wished for, it is beautiful nonetheless. I am amazed by the writing skills and beauty of love brought out by the author. This book really made me a fan of the author.
P. S. I Love You
Same author, different take. This book really takes love to next level and teaches us to move on while still in love with the person. Life is not always what we think and it never stops moving. We should learn from our love and become strong instead of being weak in its wake.
The Notebook
This book was a long-awaited book that I picked up last year. It is beautifully written and adds to the charm of a long-lost lover. However, I would prefer to watch the movie over reading this book. If your partner loves cheesy romances with a happy ending, this might be the one you are searching for.
Addicted To You
This book astonished me. From the cover of the book, you might discard it as smut, but this book contains a very beautifully constructed plot and amazing characters. I enjoyed reading this and I am sure that you will love it too.
Surprise Me
Surprise Me has the same Sophie Kinsella magic that all her books have – humor, fun, spending, and a lot of chaos which all ends in a happy result. It is a story about two partners who love each other a lot but are not sure whether this spark will last till they are old or not. It is a happy journey of two people who try to surprise each other.
Kissing Booth
It is a young adult book that has now been adapted to screen. It is all about love, crushing, miscommunication, and then leading to a happy ending. This gooey romance will make your heart flutter and fly in the feeling of love.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
This is a really good young adult romance book with beautiful writing and descriptions regarding the characters and their actions. I was hooked on this book and enjoyed every minute that I read it. It took me just a few days to read and finish this book. It is easy to read with a lovely setting beautiful plot and awesome characters. It has also been adapted into movies that encompass three books of this series in three different movies. All parts are equally amazing to read as well as watch. If your partner hasn’t read this, then make sure you gift them this beauty. It will remind them of you whenever they will pick up this book.
Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is a beautiful book covering the journey of Simon and his attempt to uncover the identity of Blue. It is also a story of coming out and the hesitation that one feels before coming out. It is a beautiful book that I enjoyed immensely, and the lovely emails sent between the two characters left me feeling butterflies in my stomach. A beautiful young adult romance that will make your heart soar.
Pride And Prejudice
This is the classic romance that each and every list including the tag romance is going to have. This includes the story of the Bennet family, especially Elizabeth Bennet and her conflict with Mr. Darcy; The pride and the prejudice of the characters form the title of the story. This book is sure to entice you in its magic and make you its forever slave while you try to cuddle your ensnarer. You can read my detailed review here.
Persuasion
After reading Pride and Prejudice, I was highly prejudiced against the second book by Austen that I was going to pick. This was the second book. It is not Pride and Prejudice, but it is no less either. It is beautiful and contains the story of persuasion that it took for the male lead in persuading the female lead into ignoring the societal pressure and accepting the love. It also shows how love and societal expectations stand in conflict a lot of times. But you should not fear dear readers, the love won at the end.
Little Women
This was one of the few classics which I got entranced into. Classics bore me, but his book really called me deeper and deeper into the story. I started to read this and kept reading until I finished this book. The story is beautiful, each of the little women is marvelous and the supporting characters are super cool as well. The ending was a bit different from what I had anticipated, but the overall experience of this book is top-notch.
Remember Me
This is another Sophie Kinsella that has made to this list. It is the story of a lady who has lost her memory and with the memory loss comes her surprise of finding herself in a different world than the one she had expected. It is filled with emotions, feelings, beautiful characters, and the signature Kinsella quirk.
The Tattooist Of Auschwitz
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a heart-wrenching story of the tattooist of the concentration camp. It presents to us the story as well as a description of the concentration camps during dark times. The conditions described are heartbreaking but the way their love flourished gives me hope and tears at the same time.
Eleanor And Park
Eleanor and Park is a young adult romance book about high school kids. They find each other amidst the craziness of the world. They became each other’s pillars and struggled through their problems and minds. The bond between them is so beautiful and strong that I was happy that they found each other when they found each other.
The Kiss Quotient
It is a nice book that tells us an unusual modern romance. The love story is not that unusual but the way in which it begins is really different than what I have witnessed in real life. The protagonist of this book is someone who has trouble understanding her emotions and is thus unable to feel empathy with general human emotions. This book will give you a different take on romance and will leave you feeling good.
Turtles All The Way Down
Turtles All The Way Down is a John Green book based on young adults with different psychological troubles. It talks about love, friendship, understanding, and mental health. It is a beautiful book that I was happy that I picked.
Fangirl
I had read this book more than 6 years ago, but from what I remember is that this book gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling of love while reading. This is the book where I found my first fictional crush (Tom Felton is real, so Malfoy doesn’t count). I hope you also love the book the way I loved it.
P. S. This book is somehow connected with the book Carry On. So if you have the budget then you should gift your partner that too because who doesn’t love to read the book mentioned in another book!
Rich People Problems
This is a really good book with drama and proper execution of that drama. I enjoyed every bit of this book, every turn of events, every romantic exchange between the protagonists. I think your partner will enjoy this book if they enjoy watching Korean dramas and reading dramatic stories.
When Dimple Met Rishi
The recent adaptation of this book into Mismatched was a really good series to watch, and similarly, this book was a really good book to read. It was easy to read, with a nice flow in the story and a fast-paced story. Despite being fast-paced, it gives a relaxed feel and a happy mood. I finished it in two to three days. (The series is not the same as in the book, so don’t get fooled by thinking that you know the story)
Holding Up The Universe
It is a beautiful young adult romance book that talks about mental health and love. By the time you will end this book, you will feel happy. It talks about so many issues while maintaining the lovely bond between the characters.
Heartstopper
It is a graphic novel and its synonym is beauty. It is about Charlie and Nick and their love story. It is one of the very few realistic romances that I have read. Everything they do makes me fall in love with them.
Leah On The Offbeat
It is the story of Leah from Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda from her point of view. Even though Simon comes out, Leah has her own difficulties to deal with before she could come out. There is no good or bad time for love, it is when you are ready.
Can You Keep A Secret – If They Love Quirk And Humor
A quirky quick read with so many secrets spilled to an anonymous who is going to be your boss. This book is easy to read and hard to forget. The humor, the weirdness, and the crazy vibe are throughout the book. Give this to a playful (or maybe serious) partner this v day and see them cheer up.
Everything, Everything
A story about deception and gain and a happy ending with a lot of tears in between. I really enjoyed this book when I read this, a warm and promising romance.
Fantasy Reads
These books are the ones that are love stories based on a fantasy world. This is best suited for people who love reading fantasies as well as romances. So explore the reading preferences of your partner, and if you find a lot of fantasy, then you are on the right track buddy with some amazing valentine’s day gift ideas for your partner!
ACOTAR Series
I love this series. A lot. It is a fantasy story but it has some intense romance in it. This is a hit-or-miss book, either you love it a lot or you hate it. So, you better be sure about the reading preferences of your partner. There are some problems in the story, but the plot keeps me hooked!
Carve The Mark – Fantasy Duology– The Fate Divides
This is the story about two people who were supposed to be enemies but then fall in love. The two worlds they live in are always at constant war, and their love story is marked with death and loss. It sure is a heartbreaking love story. This series is so underrated and deserves so much more love than it’s getting.
The Hunger Games Series
It is a fantasy that presents to us a beautiful love story between Peeta and Katniss. People might be divided between Peeta and Gale, but no one can be divided about the beautiful book that it is. Young adult romance book and the dystopian setting, with the end in chaotic peace, that’s it, perfect.
Twilight – If They Want Some Mythical Romance
Many people love this, many people hate it, and I am the former one. I really loved reading all the books of this series more than just once. I totally loved it, even the love triangle bit. Also, I was Team Edward. This is a perfect example of fantasy combined with young adult romance books.
Freaking Romance – Webtoon
I read this freaking romance on Webtoon, and I absolutely fell in love with this book. Whether you want to talk about the story or the art, both of these are super awesome in this book. Love to read Webtoon? Pick this up
Six Of Crows
Six Of Crows is a special love story. It is not about the cheesy and happy love that we all share and are generally aware of. It is the intense love born from loss and respect for each other even before a friendship can be forged. This book is a special kind of love. Send this book as a gift to your partner as a message of intensity to which you love them.
Divergent Series
This is a dystopian series filled with action and thrill. It also has in these pages a beautiful love story that I love to read about and for which I cried a lot. It can be also termed as a young adult romance book but with a twist of dystopia and heartbreak.
Carry On
This is a fantasy that is based on mythical creatures of wizards and vampires and the love between them. It is a love story from enemies to lovers arc.
Heartbreaking Reads
So now that the love is in the discussion, shouldn’t we talk about how not all love stories end in smiles and shenanigans? So here is a list of tear-worthy love stories that never get to end properly. These love stories are going to remain inscribed on our mental frame. Gift them tissues along with these, please. *sobs continuously*
The Song Of Achilles
This is a love story that is sweet and melodious to read but heartbreaking in the end. This is a gorgeous love story and everything that is love. This is a must-read if you are into romance. Read my review here.
The Fault In Our Stars
Who doesn’t know about this beauty? (Maybe someone who doesn’t read, oopsie). This is an epic love story, so if you are not sure what to give, give them this.
A Walk To Remember
I recently read this book and I found it super cute and super sad at the same time. The plot has been used several times in several books and stories yet I found this story beautiful till the very end.
The Great Gatsby
This book for sure is a representation of the American dream but along with that, it is also an incomplete love story. Read about Gatsby’s love and Daisy’s love and think.
Wuthering Heights
“If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger.” – Wuthering Heights
And that’s all I need to say about this book. Enjoy.
Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is a classic love story, a classic romance. It is the basis of so many other love stories and it is the basis of so many lovers; to live and love together and to die together. This book is for love beyond life. I thought that reading it would be so cliched, but to my amusement, I enjoyed every second spent reading this book. A perfect classic romance for this v day.
Five Feet Apart
This is such a heartbreaking book that fills you with joy despite being based in such a dire situation. Disease and death surround this love story, alas this beauty. Send them some tissues along with this book, please. (I wanted to hug someone after reading this.)
Thirteen Reasons Why – A bit Twisted
It is strange to read a book that has been as popular as a series, and you might have also watched the series, but to read this book and cry over the characters is a different kind of love, better when read together. This is a young adult romance book but with a sad ending.
All The Bright Places – Will Break Your Heart
This. Book. Has. My. Whole. Heart. And. Lots. Of tissues. As. well.
A perfect Valentine’s day gift idea if your partner is a book lover, you both can cry together. *sobs uncontrollably* *curses and throws the book away* *brings it back and cradles it while crying, hugging whoever is next to them*
Looking For Alaska
This is a mixed book with love and heartache at the same time. It is one of those comfort books which makes me cry and which I will shove in your face to read about, even if you have read it. So please gift this book to your partner. Period.
Mystical and Magical Romances
These books are magical and will compel you to read more even when they are not making any sense. What in the witchcraft is this technique to make the readers fall in love with the story without even understanding, but it is what it is! I hope you find some cool books as your
Norwegian Woods – Weird But True
You like mystic reads, the one which makes you feel like you have escaped this book and found respite somewhere else, pick a Murakami. This book is an incomplete love story that might leave you confused if you read too fast, and even more, confused if you read slowly. This book is open to multiple implications and you can design your own narrative, maybe? But yes, a good valentine’s day gift idea.
The Night Circus
I loved this book when I read it a few years back. It is filled with magic and the way the narrative reveals things to us feels so out of this world. This book and the love in this gave me goosebumps while reading it. It is beautiful, mysterious, and lovely at the same time. Use this Valentine’s day gift idea to woo your partner magically once again.
